The CTTS Annual Lecture 2019, entitled ‘Language Training in Crises: Lessons from the Pacific War?’ will be delivered by Professor Kayoko Takeda, Professor of Translation and Interpreting Studies at Rikkyo University, Tokyo. Prof Takeda is currently a visiting fellow at Wolfson College, University of Cambridge and has a particular interest in research on wartime translators and interpreters. Her most recent book publication is entitled: Japanese Linguists for Allied Military Intelligence during the Pacific War (Tokyo: Chikuma Shobo, 2018)
The lecture takes place from 2pm to 3 pm, Thursday, 4 April in CG05, Henry Grattan building, Glasnevin campus Dublin City University, followed by refreshments.
